Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group are seeking an experienced Toolmaker for a well-established manufacturer in Brighton. This is a hands-on toolroom role working to keep production moving by making, repairing and maintaining press tools, jigs and fixtures, and getting involved in breakdowns when they happen.

You will strip, inspect, fault-find and rebuild tooling, carry out preventative maintenance and produce precision parts from engineering drawings using manual mills, lathes and grinders.

Qualifications

• Strong press tool, jig or fixture background.
• Manual machining and bench fitting skills.
• Good fault-finding ability.
• CNC would be useful, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Make, assemble and repair press tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Strip, inspect, fault-find and rebuild tooling.
• Carry out preventative and reactive tool maintenance.
• Produce precision parts from engineering drawings.
• Use manual mills, lathes and grinders.
• Bench fit and assemble to tight tolerances.
• Support tool trials and modifications.
• Help production quickly when tooling goes down.
