Job summary

Hymid Multi-Shot Ltd in Torquay is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to manufacture, repair and maintain precision injection mould tooling, supporting production and ensuring high quality.

You will interpret drawings and CAD data, work to tight tolerances, and collaborate with engineers. On-site role with a competitive salary £35,000–£40,000 DOE and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Time-served Toolmaker with proven precision engineering experience.
• Background in injection moulding, plastics manufacturing, or similar.
• Proficient in CNC machining and tight tolerance work.
• Strong problem-solving and detail orientation with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, repair and maintain injection mould tooling to precise engineering standards.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD data accurately.
• Support preventative maintenance and improve tool performance and longevity.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians on production tooling and trials.

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Toolmaker to join a skilled and collaborative engineering team in Torquay. This hands-on role will focus on the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of precision injection mould tooling, supporting efficient production operations and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance are maintained throughout the tooling lifecycle.

Responsibilities of the Toolmaker:

• Manufacture, assemble, repair, and maintain injection mould tooling to precise engineering standards
• Interpret technical drawings, CAD data, and tooling specifications accurately
• Support preventative maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve tool performance and longevity
• Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to support production, tool trials, and new product introduction activities

Requirements of the Toolmaker:

• Time-served Toolmaker with proven precision engineering experience
• Background within injection moulding, plastics manufacturing, or a similar production environment
• Competent in CNC machining processes and working to tight tolerances
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
