Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd. in Clacton-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our growing engineering team. The role focuses on repairing, modifying and manufacturing injection mould tools, with a clear pathway into Toolmaking & Management as you develop.

You will read engineering drawings, perform bench fitting, and operate manual mills, lathes and grinders while supporting CNC milling and toolmaking projects on site.

Qualifications

• Proven Toolmaking experience, ideally within injection mould tooling.
• Strong bench fitting skills.
• Experience with manual milling, turning and grinding.
• Manual spark erosion experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Wire erosion and CNC milling experience would be advantageous, training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Repair and modify injection mould tools.
• Manufacture new mould tools to specification.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Carry out bench fitting and finishing work.
• Operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders and spark eroders.
• Support CNC milling operations.
• Work with Mazak/Mazatrol and Bridgeport/Heidenhain systems.
• Support projects and take on increasing responsibility as you progress.

Are you an experienced Toolmaker looking for the opportunity to take the next step in your career?

We’re looking for a skilled Toolmaker to join a growing engineering business. This is a hands-on role working on the manufacture, repair and modification of injection mould tools, with a clear pathway to progress into a Toolmaking & Management position as you develop.

The Role:

• Repair and modify injection mould tools
• Manufacture new mould tools to specification
