Job summary

PECO is a precision engineering company with a family heritage. Our in-house toolroom houses highly skilled engineers responsible for end-to-end manufacture of our products and the design and production of the tools to make them.

Read blueprints, operate CNC lathes and milling machines, assemble precision parts, and perform preventative maintenance while collaborating with engineers to deliver tooling solutions in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience with precision tooling and toolmaking environments preferred.
• Able to read blueprints and follow engineering specifications.
• Capable of working independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and schematics to manufacture custom tools.
• Operate CNC lathes, milling machines and related equipment.
• Assemble and fit precision parts to create tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and document records.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify tool needs and develop solutions.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Unique these days, we have an in-house toolroom housing a team of highly skilled engineers responsible for the end-to-end manufacture of our products, and the design and production of the tools to make our products too! At PECO we design, create, manufacture, pack and ship all our products, so this is a rare opportunity to see a project through from start to finish, and to ensure your ideas really do shape our future.

Over time we have invested heavily in technology to enable us to remain competitive, and as a result we have state of the art high specification, high-quality equipment.

Role responsibilities include

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications to manufacture custom press and mould tools
• Operate machinery, including CNC lathes, CNC and manual milling machines, high speed machining centres, wire and die sink EDM and grinders, to create precision parts and components
• Assemble and fit precision parts together to create custom tools
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tools to keep them in good working order
• Collaborate with engineers and other departments to identify tool needs and develop solutions
• Document/keep appropriate records of tool designs and specifications for future reference
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Work collaboratively to produce new tools from tool drawings with an opportunity to be involved in the design of tooling
• Performing Preventative Maintenance in order to minimise unplanned downtime
