Job summary

DK Recruitment Ltd seeks an experienced Tooling Engineer for a leading manufacturer of electrical cables and data network infrastructure. The role focuses on maintaining and improving production processes and supporting new production from concept to production.

You will prioritise safety, assist with tooling maintenance, and collaborate with operators and management to implement cost-effective equipment modifications to boost safety, reliability and productivity.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Toolmaking or engineering-based apprenticeship.
• Problem solving skills.
• Involvement in Process Improvement activity.
• Familiar with CAD software and an understanding of technical drawing standards.
• Experience of operating EDM Machine Processes.
• Able to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Good communicator at all levels and with external customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve existing production processes and assist in implementing new production from concept to production.
• Assist the Toolmaker with maintenance and inspection of tooling (regrinds, punch changes, logging).
• Help maintenance team with planned machine maintenance and repairs.
• Design, develop and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability and productivity.
• Collaborate with operators and management to understand requirements and improve production processes.
• Maintain technical documentation and drawings.
• Work on new product projects with input on design for manufacture and equipment/process selection.
