Job summary

Kingston Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Tool Technician to join our established Toolroom team. You will maintain, service, repair and improve injection moulds within a manufacturing setting, ensuring high tooling performance and minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate is time-served in Toolmaking or Engineering with strong mechanical skills and experience in a toolroom environment; reading engineering drawings and using manual machines such as milling, lathes and surface grinders are

Qualifications

• Time-served Toolmaking or Engineering apprenticeship.
• Minimum of two years' experience in a Toolroom or engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience within injection moulding or press tooling would be advantageous.
• Experience using manual machinery such as milling machines, lathes and surface grinders would be beneficial.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance of injection moulds.
• Diagnose tooling faults, identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
• Support continuous improvement to minimise tooling downtime.
• Work closely with Production and Process teams to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
• Follow engineering drawings, standard operating procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment using 5S principles.
• Support the training and development of colleagues and apprentices.

This role would suit a time-served Toolmaker or Engineer with strong mechanical skills and experience in a Toolroom or engineering environment. You will play a key role in maintaining tooling performance, minimising downtime and supporting production quality.

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance of injection moulds.

The Candidate:
