Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Toolroom Machinist in the Plymouth area for a Monday-Friday 7am-3pm role. The position offers £20.00-£22.00 per hour, plus a bonus scheme and overtime opportunities, with a temporary-to-permanent pathway.

The role focuses on manufacturing parts to drawings, building jigs and fixtures, and driving continuous improvement within a supportive engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Machining experience in a production or job shop environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances.
• Protrack SMX/RLX experience is desirable.
• Siemens ShopMill experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture parts to drawings.
• Design and build new jigs and fixtures.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce waste and maximise uptime.
• Support new product introductions.
• Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Record maintenance activity via CMMS and manage spare parts.
