Job summary

The Best Connection Walsall is seeking an experienced Tool Maker for a permanent day shift role in a well-established manufacturing environment in the Walsall area. Immediate interviews available and competitive pay aligned to experience.

You will manufacture, maintain and repair tooling, read engineering drawings, and operate manual machines including milling machines, lathes and grinders, while driving quality and continuous improvement in the toolroom.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tool Maker within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of toolroom machinery and equipment.
• Experience with tool maintenance, repairs and modifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, maintain and repair tooling to a high standard.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Operate a range of manual machine tools, including milling machines, lathes and grinders.
• Carry out tool modifications and improvements to support production requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve tooling issues efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with quality and safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement activities within the toolroom.
