Job summary

The Best Connection in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced Tool Room Assistant to support a busy Tool Room in a manufacturing environment. The role offers a long-term opportunity with a potential permanent position after a successful trial period.

You will assist with preparation, finishing and maintenance of tooling and components, including surface grinding and quality checks, following engineering drawings and working both independently and as part of the team.

Qualifications

• Previous Tool Room or engineering experience.
• Experience with grinding machinery is advantageous.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and measurements.
• Strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Practical, hands-on approach; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Surface grinding of tooling and components.
• Grind tooling and components to accurate dimensions.
• Produce smooth, precise surface finishes.
• Work with punches, dies and other tooling components.
• Check finished components for accuracy and quality against drawings.
• Follow technical drawings and specifications.
