Evolution Recruit is recruiting a skilled Toolmaker for a leading aluminium impact extrusion tooling operation in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. You will manufacture, repair and refurbish tooling, providing rapid machining support and root-cause problem solving.

The role requires 5+ years hands-on toolroom experience, proficiency in turning, milling and grinding, and a good understanding of drawings and safety standards. EDM experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Manufacture, maintain, and refurbish impact extrusion tooling and machine parts.

• Coordinate sub-contracted services for tool manufacturing (e.g., heat treatment).
• Maintain tool store procedures and ensure master drawings are up to date.
• Uphold clean, safe toolroom environment and health and safety standards.

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a industry-leading supplier of high-quality aluminium impact extrusions based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker with at least 5 years of toolroom experience to join a dynamic production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Tooling & Machining: Manufacture, maintain, and refurbish impact extrusion tooling and machine parts, ensuring accurate record-keeping for materials and time used.
• Production Support: Provide rapid response machining and engineering support for machine repairs and operational tooling updates.
• Troubleshooting: Assist production teams with root-cause analysis and problem-solving on tooling and process issues.
• Sub-Contract Management: Coordinate sub-contracted services required for tool manufacturing, such as heat treatment.
• Store & Drawing Procedures: Maintain tool store protocols (booking-in, marking up, and storage) and adhere to drawing office standards to ensure all master drawings remain up to date.
• H&S & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe toolroom environment and uphold strict health and safety protocols at all times.

Key Requirements & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a toolroom environment.
• Proficient in conventional turning, milling, and cylindrical & surface grinding (essential).
• EDM experience (highly desirable).
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, process troubleshooting, and safety standards.
