Job summary

BSS Industrial, part of the Travis Perkins Group, is seeking a Hire Fitter / Driver to join their nationwide team. The role focuses on testing and repairing hire equipment, delivering and collecting orders, and delivering knowledgeable, solution-focused advice to customers.

Ideal candidates will have multi-drop driving experience, tool servicing knowledge, and a strong emphasis on safety and compliance. A full clean UK driving licence is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

Ready for your next challenge? We’re looking for a motivated Hire Fitter / Driver to join BSS, a nationwide leader in commercial heating, ventilation, pipeline, and mechanical services, and part of the Travis Perkins Group.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, typically 07:30 - 17:00 Most importantly, no weekend working!

What you’ll be doing

In this varied role, you’ll ensure all hire equipment is tested, repaired, safe, and ready for customers. You’ll support the Hire Manager with day‑to‑day operations, deliver and collect equipment, and build strong customer relationships by offering knowledgeable, solution‑focused advice. Safety and compliance will be central to everything you do.

What we’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll have multi‑drop driving experience and some tool service knowledge, but we’re equally interested in transferable skills such as great customer service and sales ability. A full clean UK driving licence is essential.
