Job summary

American Trim invites applicants to join a State-Certified Apprentice Program to become a Registered Journeyperson in Tool and Die. The apprenticeship combines in‑house classroom training, hands‑on lab work, and on‑the‑job experience under the supervision of the Tool & Die Supervisor.

Apprentices will learn to build, repair, and replace tooling for various machines, while upholding safety and process standards. The program emphasizes precision, blueprint reading, and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commitment to completing the Registered American Trim Apprenticeship Program, up to two years of classroom, lab, and on‑the‑job training.
• Strong interest in hands-on work and problem solving.
• Successful program completion determined by classroom and on‑the‑job performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on dies, jigs, fixtures and transfer units.
• Execute engineering changes, tool revisions and die modifications as required.
• Set up, operate and maintain service on tools such as lathes and milling machines.
• Perform precise machine operations to maintain close tolerances.
• Troubleshoot problem dies and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints or written instructions.
