Job Description

A nursery in Reading is looking for a Toddler Room Leader to join their team.

Options for Hours:

1. Option 1: Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm, 43.75 hours per week. Eligible for an attendance bonus of up to £90 each month where there was no sickness absence the month before.
2. Option 2: Monday to Friday, Shift pattern 8am-5pm, 8:30am-5:30pm, or 9am-6pm, 38.75 hours per week. Options can be discussed prior to employment.

Salary: up to £28,000 per annum.

Qualifications: Must have a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB, B-TEC, NVQ 3, or equivalent).

Holiday: 29 days including bank and public holidays.

The nursery will provide mandatory training including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, Fire Safety, and Food Hygiene.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, sharing this commitment.
• Providing a warm and caring environment, maintaining high standards of childcare.
• Being an exemplary role model for professional practice.
• Working with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to deliver the curriculum in line with legislation.
• Acting as a key person for a group of children, ensuring their needs are met and tracking their development.
• Delivering suitable experiences for individual children, including adaptations for inclusive practice.
• Partnering with parents/carers, recognizing them as the children's prime educators.
• Ensuring effective induction for new children and their families.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, reporting issues promptly.
• Leading practitioners in your area of work.
• Involving in the induction of new employees, supervising and training students and apprentices.
• Completing and storing written records in accordance with GDPR regulations.
• Respecting privacy and confidentiality of others, complying with legal requirements.
