Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is seeking a Timber Mill Machinist to join our Glasgow Timber branch located at Maxwell Road, Glasgow. We are looking for someone passionate about delivering great service.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Timber Mill Machinist, you will ensure the smooth operation of our timber processing by providing efficient milling services, understanding customer specifications, and maintaining safety standards.

Engage with our product lines to advise customers and maximize customer interactions in line with Jewson Values.

Carry out timber milling according to customer specifications, understanding measurements and requirements.

Understand health & safety requirements in an operational environment, including machinery handling and timber storage.

Conduct routine inspections and complete necessary documentation.

Work collaboratively as part of a team within the timber processing plant and overall site operations.

What you’ll need to have:

Previous experience in a timber mill environment is preferred but not essential, as training can be provided.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.

A focus on health and safety.

Willingness to handle bulky items manually.
