Job summary

Oakwrights Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Timber Frame Technician in Hereford to join our workshop team. You will contribute to crafting oak-framed homes and bespoke buildings with a focus on quality, accuracy and practical problem-solving.

You'll read technical drawings, prepare components, and assemble panels using hand and power tools, while maintaining a clean, safe workshop and collaborating with skilled craftsmen.

Qualifications

  • Experience in carpentry or joinery helps, but practical aptitude is valued.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Build timber frame panels forming structure for bespoke homes.
  • Read and work from technical drawings and specifications.
  • Measure, cut and prepare timber components accurately.
  • Assemble panels using hand tools and power tools.

Salary : Competitive, DOE


Hours : Full Time, Permanent (45 hours per week)

What You'll Be Doing

Every day is about creating something tangible and lasting. Working as part of our skilled production team, you'll:



  • Build timber frame panels that form the structure of our bespoke homes and buildings

  • Read and work from technical drawings and specifications

  • Measure, cut and prepare timber components accurately

  • Assemble panels using hand tools and power tools

  • Work alongside experienced craftspeople who are passionate about quality

  • Help maintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment

  • Take pride in producing work that reflects the high standards we're known for


Who We're Looking For

You don't have to be an expert timber framer already. What matters most is that you're practical, motivated and keen to learn.


You may have experience in:


  • Carpentry

  • Joinery

  • Timber framing

  • Construction

  • Manufacturing

  • Fabrication

  • Workshop or assembly environments


You’ll also bring:


  • A great work ethic and positive attitude

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Confidence using tools and equipment
