Job summary

Proactive Technical Limited in Bedford is seeking an experienced Welder to join a busy manufacturing site on an ongoing contract. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance, repairs and fabrication work to keep equipment and infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will have strong TIG welding skills, fabrication ability and the capacity to work independently within a maintenance team on a day shift, Monday to Friday, with a long-term view.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Welder with strong TIG welding ability.
• Solid fabrication skills and maintenance experience.
• Experience repairing or modifying existing equipment or structures.
• Good practical problem-solving and independent work capability.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments is advantageous.

Location: Bedford
Contract: Non stop ongoing contract and temp to permanent (like a permanent role)
Shift: Monday to Friday, days
Welding: TIG

Can be paid PAYE, Umbrella or Limited Company

We are currently recruiting for a Welder to join a busy manufacturing facility in Bedford on an ongoing contract.

This is a hands-on, maintenance-focused role rather than a traditional fabrication position. You will be responsible for carrying out repairs, modifications and fabrication work around the site, helping to keep equipment, machinery and site infrastructure operating safely and effectively.

The Role

As a Felder, you will be involved in:

• Carrying out TIG welding and some fabrication repairs around the manufacturing site
• Repairing and modifying existing machinery, equipment and structures
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance-related work
• TIG welding to a high standard
• Working alongside the engineering and maintenance teams
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a good standard

About You

We are looking for an experienced Welder with strong TIG welding experience who is comfortable working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

You should have:

• Previous experience as a Welder
• Strong TIG welding and fabrication skills
• Experience repairing or modifying existing equipment, machinery or structures
• Good practical problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, production or another industrial environment would be advantageous

This would suit a TIG Welder who enjoys a varied maintenance environment and is looking for a long-term contract rather than short-term fabrication projects.
