Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder in Bedford on a long-term ongoing contract with temp-to-perm prospects. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance, repairs and fabrications around the site to keep equipment and infrastructure running safely.

You will perform TIG welding, fabricate replacement parts, and work with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure high standards and safe practices. On-site role suited to those who enjoy varied maintenance projects.

Fabricator Welder BEdford

Location: Bedford
Contract: Long-term ongoing contract and temp to permanent
Shift: Monday to Friday, days
Welding: TIG

We are currently recruiting for a Fabricator Welder to join a busy manufacturing facility in Bedford on a long-term ongoing contract.

This is a hands-on, maintenance-focused role rather than a traditional fabrication position. You will be responsible for carrying out repairs, modifications and fabrication work around the site, helping to keep equipment, machinery and site infrastructure operating safely and effectively.

The Role

As a Fabricator Welder, you will be involved in:

• Carrying out TIG welding and fabrication repairs around the manufacturing site
• Repairing and modifying existing machinery, equipment and structures
• Fabricating replacement parts and components where required
• Working from measurements and existing components rather than primarily producing new builds
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance-related fabrication work
• TIG welding to a high standard
• Working alongside the engineering and maintenance teams
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a good standard

About You

We are looking for an experienced Fabricator Welder with strong TIG welding experience who is comfortable working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

You should have:

• Previous experience as a Fabricator Welder
• Strong TIG welding and fabrication skills
• Experience repairing or modifying existing equipment, machinery or structures
• Good practical problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, production or another industrial environment would be advantageous

This would suit a Fabricator Welder who enjoys a varied maintenance environment and is looking for a long-term contract rather than short-term fabrication projects.
