Job summary

Optima UK in Leicestershire is seeking a TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on TIG welding tasks to customer specifications, including welding vanes to vanes, with strict quality and documentation such as batch cards.

You will work in a fast-paced environment using hand and air tools, read basic drawings and method specs, and adhere to SOX and Health & Safety policies. The position offers a permanent contract with benefits like pension and free parking.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience of TIG welding.
• Experience in a fast-paced Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
• Experience using hand tools and air tools.
• Ability to understand method specifications and basic engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring systems to ensure quality.

Responsibilities

• Complete TIG welding tasks in line with customer specifications.
• Weld critical tube components and vane-to-vane assemblies.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Use hand and air tools to perform tasks.
• Complete batch cards and required paperwork.
• Understand basic engineering drawings and method specifications.
• Follow company policies including Health & Safety and SOX.

Job Title: TIG Welder
Location: Leicestershire, LE18
Shift: Rotating AM/PM (37 hours per week)
Pay: £18.92 per hour incl. shift allowance

Key Responsibilities

• Completion of TIG welding tasks in line with Customer specification
• Completion of critical tube welding tasks, welding of vanes to vanes
• Inspection of work to ensure compliance with strict quality standards
• Using a range of air tools to perform work tasks
• Completion of all necessary paperwork (i.e. batch cards)
• Understanding of basic Engineering drawings and method specifications
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety

About You

• Must have proven experience of TIG welding
• Experience of working in a fast-paced Manufacturing / Engineering environment
• Experience of using hand / air tools
• Ability to understand method specifications and basic engineering drawings
• Experience of using measuring systems to ensure quality adherence
