A leading engineering & manufacturing company based in Surrey is urgently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder to join their manufacturing & production teams.

Role Overview

1. Play a key role in the assembly and fabrication of large vacuum chambers.
2. Operate all facets of the welding process in the tube production area.
3. Work within a clean room environment.
4. TIG Welding on Stainless Steel materials.
5. Welding of thin-gauge materials is essential.
6. Weld materials ranging from 0.2mm up to 10mm in thickness.
7. Read and understand engineering drawings.
8. Support the manufacturing engineer in promoting continuous improvement to reduce assembly times while monitoring quality and output.
9. Experience with fine welding on vacuum chambers is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Welding within a clean room environment.
• Ensure health & safety (H & S) of all welding personnel and processes.
• Maintain safety compliance related to welding processes (Compressed gases, COSHH, HSE, etc.).
• Develop welding skills to support the assembly process.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the clean room to prevent particulate contamination.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in UHV technology.
• Proven experience in TIG welding processes.
• Experience working in a clean room environment.
• Knowledge of 5S and process improvement is advantageous.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• HNC or ONC in Engineering or Scientific discipline, or relevant work experience (desirable but not essential).
