Job Opportunity: TIG/MIG Welder

Are you an experienced TIG/MIG welder looking for a new challenge? Owen Payne Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TIG/MIG Welder to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in the West Bromwich area.

This is a 12-week temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the successful candidate.

Job Duties:

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metal components.
• Weld using a turntable process.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.
• Assemble and fabricate metal structures using welding equipment.
• Utilise power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and weld metal pieces.
• Conduct stick welding when required.
• Work with sheet metal to create precise welds.
• Demonstrate mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain high standards of work and attention to detail.
• Follow health & safety protocols in a factory/manufacturing environment, with particular regard to PPE.
• Perform preventative maintenance of equipment to a high standard.

The Successful Candidate:

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Proficiency in stick welding and working with sheet metal.
• Competence in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment.
• Strong understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations.
• Previous experience in metal fabrication.
