Job summary

Sacro is recruiting a Throughcare Community Worker (Lanarkshire) to support individuals returning to the community after short-term sentences or remand. The role is primarily remote with travel to Edinburgh/Glasgow hubs and partner sites, and includes pre-release planning and community connection duties.

The post is a 1 FTE fixed-term contract to 31 March 2028. A SVQ level 3 or equivalent education is desirable, with a valid driving licence and proficiency in Microsoft tools essential.

Qualifications

• SVQ level 3 or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience supporting individuals in a community setting is essential.
• Current driving licence and use of a car for work are essential.
• Computer literate with proficient experience of Microsoft tools is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide relational and practical support to individuals returning to the community after short-term sentences or remands.
• Coordinate pre-release planning with Throughcare Prison Worker colleagues and partners.
• Support access to local and specialist services and wider community connections.
• Build trusting, compassionate relationships and work collaboratively across organisations to meet needs.
• Be flexible to service demand and support the wider team and hub areas.
