Job summary

Heilbronn Institute at the University of Bristol invites applications for three-year fixed-term Heilbronn Postdoctoral Research Fellowships starting 1 October 2027. Fellows will conduct their own research while contributing to a classified research programme, with equal time allocated to both.

Openings across Bristol, Imperial College London, King's College London, UCL, Manchester; up to two in Data Science or Quantum Computing.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research experience in a related field.
• Ability to conduct independent, high-quality research.
• Interest in Pure Mathematics, Data Science or Quantum Information.

Responsibilities

• Divide time between the candidate's own research and the Heilbronn Institute's classified programme.
• Collaborate with colleagues across universities on real-world problems.
• Contribute to a supportive research environment and mentoring.
