Job summary

Heriot-Watt University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Quantum Matter. The role focuses on generating data for low-dimensional correlated quantum systems using SyTen and ALF, in close collaboration with the PI.

The position is a full-time fixed-term contract for eight months at Grade 7 (£38,448–£48,337 per annum). You will disseminate research, map superconducting systems, and contribute to outreach and funding activities within the division.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline (or near completion).
• Strong experience with computational quantum matter methods and software.
• Experience with data analysis and scientific software.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and disseminate original research aligned with the project.
• Collaborate with senior decision makers to enable programme progress.
• Support team activities and outreach/impact engagement.
• Identify funding sources and help prepare proposals.
• Develop networks and collaborations internally and externally.
