Job summary

The University of Oxford invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Mathematical Institute. This is a 1-year fixed-term position funded by UKRI/MRC, with an earliest start date of 1st January 2027 and a preference for starts between 1st January and 1st June 2027.

The appointee will conduct research in Applied Mathematics and Computational Neuroscience within OCIAM and related groups. There will be opportunities to contribute to teaching up to three hours per week during

Qualifications

  • You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in applied mathematics or a related discipline, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research in Applied Mathematics and Computational Neuroscience as part of the UKRI/MRC-funded project.
  • Write up results for publication singly or with co-authors and contribute to teaching up to three hours per week during term-time.
