Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Leicester is seeking an operator/setter level to run hot and cold thread rolling machines, ensuring fasteners meet tight tolerances at Meridian Business Park. On-site, shift-based role with a robust benefits package and room for progression.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with thread rolling machines.
• Knowledge of threads and rolling applications.
• Willingness to participate in continuous improvement teams.

Responsibilities

• Set Hot and Cold thread rolling machines to produce fasteners to strict tolerances.
• Have Knowledge of threads and application of rolling them.
• Participate in & support process development & improvement projects.
• Undertake training on all machines to ensure 100% flexibility in the workplace, and once fully trained to train others
• Support the documentation of manufacturing processes and development of training manuals
• Uses gauges and measuring equipment to ensure product meets required specifications
• Self inspection (Quality) of your personal work and over check of others work
• Keep all computer files and manual paperwork accurate and up to date at all times
• Responsible for producing SPC charts and records
• To actively take part in locally focused, or multi-functional continuous improvement teams
• Participate 5S and housekeeping ensuring it is maintained to the highest standards
• Work as fully flexible team member within the Company to maximize levels of production and quality
• To ensure operators are working effectively and efficiently at all times
• Manage the areas tooling ensuring all tooling requirements are highlighted in a timely manner to ensure tools are available to meet production demands
• All quality procedures are adhered to, taking an active part in root cause analysis
• Maximize plant and resource utilization
• Adhere to all company EHS requirements and actively participate in the identification and elimination of hazards.

Responsibilities

Competitive Hourly Rate: from £16.89 per hour atOperator Level to Setter level £18.76 dependent on skill level (rate inclusive of 22.5% shift allowance) in line with Grading Structure.

1st Jan 2027 Rate Increase to £17.63 Operator or Setter £19.59 Including 20% shift allowance

Shift : Monday to Tuesday 2.30 pm to 12.30 am, Wednesday to Thursday 2.30 pm to 12.15 am (inclusive of 15 minute paid and 30 minute unpaid break)
