Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Windows Platform Specialist to join the Derby-based enterprise team. You’ll handle third-line managed services, Windows/AD, and incident remediation, with DV/SC clearance as a prerequisite and on-call coverage.

You’ll design, deploy, and maintain Windows infrastructure, provide remote out-of-hours support, and work to tight SLAs while collaborating with customers and wider teams to understand their requirements and deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

  • We require DV clearance, or SC clearance with DV eligibility.
  • Third-line Managed Services experience providing specialist Windows Server support.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and independent technical decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams and customers.
  • Strong prioritisation and task management skills.
  • Experience with Active Directory including GPOs, DNS, LDAP and Kerberos.
  • Experience with VMware/VxRail.
  • Experience with DHCP.
  • Experience with Exchange 2019/SE.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025 (Server Core).
  • Experience with Skype for Business 2019/SE.
  • Experience with Windows 10 and core Windows infrastructure including failover clustering.
  • Experience designing, developing and deploying Windows technologies.
  • PKI and certificate management experience.
  • Experience with Quest Tools (Active Roles, Change Auditor, Recovery Manager).
  • Experience with McAfee ePO, ENS, VSE, HIPS and DLP.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell and VB.
  • Desirable: Citrix, virtualization, messaging, Ivanti, SecureEnvoy 2FA, Nexthink, Trelix ePO.

Job description

Salary: £51,000 - 91,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require either current DV clearance, or SC clearance with eligibility to undertake DV clearance.
  • We require experience in a third-line capacity within Managed Services, providing specialised support across Windows Server platforms.
  • We require excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to make key technical decisions independently.
  • We require excellent communication skills.
  • We require strong prioritisation and task management skills.
  • We require experience with Active Directory, including GPOs, forests, domains, domain controller roles, DNS, permission models, delegation, trust relationships, LDAP, and Kerberos.
  • We require experience with VMware/VxRail.
  • We require experience with DHCP.
  • We require experience with Exchange 2019/SE.
  • We require experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025, including Server Core.
  • We require experience with Skype for Business 2019/SE.
  • We require experience with Windows 10.
  • We require experience with core Windows infrastructure components, including DHCP and Windows failover clustering.
  • We require experience designing, developing, and deploying technologies on Windows platforms.
  • We require experience with PKI and certificate management.
  • We require experience with Quest Tools, including Active Roles, Change Auditor, and Recovery Manager.
  • We require experience with anti-virus technologies, including McAfee ePO, ENS, VSE, HIPS, and DLP.
  • We require scripting experience, including PowerShell and VB.
  • Desirable experience includes Citrix technologies, virtualization technologies, messaging technologies, Ivanti Device Control, SecureEnvoy 2FA, Nexthink, and Trelix ePO.
