Education: High school diploma / GED equivalent. Willingness to complete a four-year maintenance mechanic apprenticeship program.
Practical: Relevant past work experience. Able to accept responsibility for work performed. Able to work independently and with others. Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building. Knowledge of mechanical systems. Basic troubleshooting skills. Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined, abiding by all Berry Plastics codes of ethics, safety policies, and rules. Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and/or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex. Ability to safely use a forklift independently and maintain all applicable training requirements for use in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others.
