Job summary

Boyd Corp in Ashington seeks an engineer to develop thermal/mechanical solutions and manage projects from concept to prototype. You will generate 3D models and 2D drawings, liaise with customers and internal teams, and support production transfer while maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.

The role requires up to 3–4 years engineering experience, CAD proficiency, and strong numeracy and communication skills in a busy manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is desirable or equivalent industrial experience.
• Up to 3–4 years engineering experience in design, development and manufacturing.
• Familiar with CAD to generate 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Strong numeracy, analytical thinking and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as principal point of contact for customers’ engineers.
• Generate thermal management solutions, potentially using CFD tools.
• Manage individual projects: create designs, 3D models, 2D drawings, raise materials PO's and oversee prototype build/test.
• Coordinate with Production/Manufacturing Engineering for smooth transfer to manufacture.
• Support Sales and maintain customer information per procedures.
• Work with Health & Safety and 5S housekeeping targets.
