Job summary

CSafe Global is seeking an engineer to focus on the design, development, and qualification of thermal packaging solutions, including passive shippers and reusable covers. The role requires hands-on expertise in product development within the cold chain sector, and the ability to map risks and drive improvements.

The successful candidate will work onsite in office and lab environments, collaborating with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure high-quality performance and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical or related Engineering field.
• 3-5+ years experience in thermal packaging, life sciences, or cold chain logistics.
• Product development experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of ISTA, ASTM regulatory standards (DQ, OQ, PQ).

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise passive insulated systems, focusing on thermal covers.
• Evaluate material properties to maximise protection during transit.
• Manage project scope, specifications, schedule and cost.
• Analyse temperature data from loggers and implement CAPAs if needed.
• Support manufacturing and suppliers to ensure conformance to quality standards.
• Create technical specs, 2D/3D drawings, and BOM.
• Conduct physical stress testing on thermal covers across cycles.
• Drive sustainability by moving from single-use to reusable covers.
• Support supply chain in qualifying alternative materials to improve efficiency and cost.
• Support thermal modelling and lane risk analysis using industry software.
• Prepare performance summary qualifications for customer onboarding.
