Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lagger / Thermal Insulation Engineer.
• Experience with HVAC/H&V, heating or pipework insulation.

• Valid CSCS card or relevant trade certification.
• Experience within commercial, industrial or large-scale projects.
• Good understanding of site health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
• Good attention to detail and standard of finish.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out HVAC / H&V lagging and thermal insulation.
• Insulating heating installations, pipework and mechanical services.

• Cladding work below 2 metres on the Newton Abbot project.

• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and workmanship.

Thermal Insulation Engineer / Lagger - Long-Term Contracts

Locations: Newton Abbot, Devon & Newquay, Cornwall

Contract: Contract / Long-term opportunities

Rate: £25.00-£26.00 per hour, dependent on experience

Duration: Up to 12 months+, depending on project

Security Clearance: BPSS or SC Clearance required depending on site

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting experienced Thermal Insulation Engineers / Laggers for two major projects across the South West.

We have opportunities available in both Newton Abbot and Newquay, offering consistent contract work with an established client. The work will predominantly involve HVAC, heating and mechanical services insulation, making these positions particularly suited to Laggers with experience across commercial, industrial or large-scale projects.

The Newton Abbot project is currently expected to run through to the end of November, while the Newquay project is at the beginning of the programme of works and is expected to run for approximately 12 months, with potential to continue beyond this.

The Role

Depending on the project, typical duties will include:

• Carrying out HVAC / H&V lagging and thermal insulation
• Insulating heating installations, pipework and mechanical services
• Measuring, cutting and fitting insulation materials
• Installing protective finishes and cladding
• Cladding work below 2 metres on the Newton Abbot project
• Working from drawings, measurements and site specifications

What We're Looking For

Security Clearance

Both projects are based within secure environments, so security clearance is an essential part of the recruitment process.

Newton Abbot - BPSS Clearance

Candidates will need to meet the required BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting requirements before commencing work.

Newquay - SC Clearance

Candidates will need to meet the requirements for SC (Security Check) Clearance. Those who already hold active SC Clearance would be particularly advantageous, although candidates who are eligible and willing to complete the required vetting process will also be considered, subject to the client's requirements.

Project Details

Newton Abbot:

The contract is expected to run through to the end of November. Site operates between 7:00am and 6:00pm, although the client generally likes contractors finished and off site by around 5:00pm. Work is currently Monday-Friday, with Saturday work available during September. The work is mainly HVAC/H&V lagging with cladding below 2 metres.

Newquay:

This is a long-term project at the beginning of the programme of works, with approximately 12 months of work initially and the possibility of continuing beyond this. The work will predominantly focus on HVAC, heating installations, pipework and associated mechanical services insulation.
