Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stafford are seeking a Band 3 Therapy Technical Instructor to work across acute wards including Royal Stoke and County Hospital. The post includes 7-day shift patterns and weekend/bank holiday requirements.

The successful candidate will have NHS or healthcare experience and be prepared to complete competencies in occupational therapy and physiotherapy, with supervision from senior therapists.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English grade C/4 or above.
  • GCSE Maths grade C/4 or above.
  • GCSE Science grade C/4 or above.
  • Completed or undertaking a Therapy Apprenticeship.
  • Qualification within health/social or sports environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work across UHNM acute wards including Royal Stoke and County Hospital.
  • Rotations in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Medicine acute/respiratory, Emergency portals, Oncology/Renal, Orthopaedics.
  • Therapy Services operate a 7-day shift pattern with weekends/bank holidays.
  • Supervision by Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist; participate in training.

Job overview

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

We are looking for an individual to undertake a Technical Instructor post within the Medicine Therapy Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The post will work within acute wards across UHNM sites: Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital.

The successful candidate should have experience of working within a healthcare environment and an understanding of Therapy interventions. The post holder will also be expected to complete competencies in both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.

Supervision will be provided by the Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and personal development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.

Main duties of the job

Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore there is a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays.
