An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for an AHP Support Worker to join the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, Orthopaedic Teams at Ninewells Hospital. The role involves contributing to a seven-day service within the Orthopaedic unit, which handles trauma and elective joint replacements. Providing therapy over seven days is crucial to improve capacity, flow, and recovery pathways, including the development of a joint school for post-joint replacement recovery to facilitate timely discharge.
Working with both teams, you will be responsible for assessing patient care needs within an agreed protocol, modifying treatment plans as appropriate, and participating in service development. The role is based across hospital and community settings, and continued professional development is supported. Administrative duties are also part of the role.
Previous experience in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy services in a care setting is essential. Excellent communication skills are required, and IT skills are highly desirable. Teamwork is vital, and some weekend working is expected in line with NHS Tayside's strategic direction to improve patient outcomes and promote equitable, person-centered care.
We offer support through personal development planning, training programmes, and a strong commitment to MDT working, clinical governance, CPD, and evidence-based practice. Relocation assistance can be discussed.
