Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Therapy Assistant Practitioner/Trainee - Community to join the Community Therapy Team in Kendal. The role involves delivering high-quality rehabilitation in patients' homes and intermediate care settings, under supervision, with a caseload managed under a nominated clinician.

You may be qualified or training; the team covers Furness and South Lakes.

Qualifications

• Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care/Assistant Practitioner or equivalent, or willingness to train within 12 months.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to areas not served by public transport.
• Computer skills relevant to role (Electronic patient records, EMIS, STRATA).
• Literacy skills at level 2 or above (GCSE/Functional Skills).
• Training relevant to Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy Core Skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Community Therapy Team to provide assessment and rehabilitation.
• Deliver interventions with patients in their homes or intermediate care settings.
• Carry out assessment of function and activities of daily living.
• Provide feedback to qualified therapists and monitor progress.
• Manage a delegated caseload with prioritisation of tasks.
