Job summary

Badby Park at Daventry is seeking a part-time Therapy Assistant to support therapeutic and rehabilitation pathways for individuals with neurological or mental health conditions. You will work with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, SALT and Dietitians to deliver planned therapy programmes and assist with both individual and group activities.

  • Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and implications of non‑compliance.

Main duties of the job

As a Therapy Assistant, you will join the Badby Park team part-time in Daventry and provide therapeutic and rehabilitation pathways for individuals affected by neurological or mental health conditions. Your role will involve assisting and delivering planned therapy programs alongside professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, SALT, and Dietitians. You will support service users, helping them achieve their recovery goals by preparing and assisting with individual and group therapeutic activities. Additionally, you will conduct therapeutic interventions and work to create one-on-one rapports with service users to increase engagement and promote recovery. Under supervision, you will adjust plans according to service users' changing needs and abilities. Responsibilities also include undertaking basic procedures as instructed by qualified therapists, maintaining effective communication, and ensuring documentation is accurate.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for participation in the evaluation of service provisions and activities and will ensure all sessions are observed, reported and recorded. Under supervision, you will make necessary adjustments to service users plans according to their changing needs and abilities.

As a Therapy Assistant you will be:

  • Undertaking basic procedures as instructed by a qualified therapist respecting the client’s privacy, dignity, religious and cultural beliefs.
  • Reporting any change in service user condition, circumstances or response to treatment appropriately and immediately.
  • Maintaining effective communication within the team and between clients, visitors and colleagues.
  • Ensuring written/computerised documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Handling and exchanging information with care and sensitivity maintaining clinical confidentiality at all times.
  • Attending in-service training and development to learn techniques required to support the senior colleagues.
  • Assisting with ensuring a safe environment.
  • Committed to helping individuals regain their maximum independence.
  • Compliance with legislative procedures. Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire and Manual Handling.
  • Compliance with Elysium policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

You will be working alongside the clinical teams at Badby Park to care for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, where you will deliver person‑centred care where each individual is at the heart of everything you do.

This specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service which boasts extensive facilities that cater for specific needs of the residents that is set in acres of stunning countryside on the outskirts of Daventry.
