Job summary

Outcomes First Group’s Norton College – Worcester is seeking a Therapies Assistant to support Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists. You will work with the therapy and education teams to deliver assessments, develop communication and sensory profiles, and support placement plans.

You will engage in 1:1 and group sessions, participate in multi-agency meetings, and contribute to service development with supervision from qualified clinicians.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English.
• Evidence of relevant Post 16 education.
• Experience working with children with SEN / SEMH needs.
• Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required.
• Experience working as a therapy assistant or in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Experience working within an educational setting would be advantageous.
• Skilled in working as part of a team.
• Knowledge and understanding of working with children and young people with SEN.
• Ability to carry out both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively complex information to clients, carers and families and to professionals.
• Excellent organisational skills and experience completing administration tasks would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering assessments and interventions.
• Create communication and sensory profiles and contribute to placement plans.
• Deliver 1:1 and group sessions under supervision and observe therapy practice.
• Attend multi-agency meetings and support service development.
• Assist with staff training and ongoing professional development.
