Job summary

The Education Network is hiring a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Atherstone. This permanent, full-time position is designed to support pupils with diverse SEND needs and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering personalised support to help pupils access learning and achieve EHCP outcomes, both in class and across settings.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Has a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Exhibits patient, caring and compassionate approach.
  • Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Adapts to different learning and behavioural needs.
  • Keeps calm and resilient when supporting challenging situations.
  • Shows commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
  • Gains experience within SEND, education, care or therapeutic settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support to pupils with a range of SEND.
  • Support learning inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
  • Assist pupils to progress towards their EHCP outcomes.
  • Support communication, independence and emotional development.
  • Foster positive relationships and encourage confidence and resilience.
  • Support positive behaviour and safeguarding strategies.
  • Adapt approaches to meet sensory, communication and learning needs.
  • Work with families and colleagues to help pupils succeed.
