Job summary

Derbyshire County Council’s Hillview Children’s Home in Chinley provides therapeutically informed residential care for up to four Derbyshire children aged 8–18. RCWs deliver daily support and education in a small, person-centred team, operating under the Children’s Homes regulations and the Act.

The role includes sleep-in shifts and a structured progression toward Level 3 CYWP Diploma within two years. Salary includes Grade 9 hourly rates with day and night enhancements; a comprehensive perks

Qualifications

• Must hold, be working towards, or be willing to undertake the Level 3 CYWP Diploma within 2 years.
• Or hold an equivalent qualification such as NVQ 3 caring for children & young people.
• Able to work within Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and act in the child’s best interests.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support, guidance, educational and social needs of children.
• Work as part of a small staff team in a person-centred approach.
• Adhere to legislative and policy requirements for residential care.
