Homes for Support is hiring a Residential Children’s Worker in Crewe, Cheshire, with on‑site shifts and optional zero‑hours roles. Experienced staff earn £27,358.50 plus £5,475 sleep‑in payments (£32,833.50 total) on a 2‑days‑on/4‑days‑off pattern; new entrants receive £26,443.50 plus sleep‑ins (£45 each).

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Support their emotional wellbeing and development
• Help with routines, meals, education, appointments and activities
• Encourage independence and life skills
• Respond calmly and safely when things don’t go to plan
• Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
• Keep accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Work alongside families, social workers, education and other professionals
• Be a positive role model and provide clear, consistent boundaries
• Take part in supervision, training and reflective practice
• It’s a hands‑on role. You’ll spend much more time with young people than behind a desk.
