Apple Orchard in Crawley, West Sussex, invites applications for a Residential Support Worker to help create calm, therapeutic homes for children who have experienced trauma. The role supports routines, education and emotional wellbeing across five homes in Surrey and West Sussex.

No prior residential childcare is required if you share the right values; full induction, ongoing training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• This role requires a genuine passion for improving children's lives.
• This role requires a caring, resilient, and patient approach with calm under pressure.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to rural homes.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing home environment for children.
• Support daily routines, education, activities and relationships to build life skills.
• Build stable relationships and act as a positive role model.
• Apply calm, therapeutic approaches to support children through difficult moments.
• Maintain clear records of progress and important information.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, local authorities and professionals to uphold care standards.
