University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a radiographer to join the dynamic radiotherapy team. The post holder will rotate between the photon and proton departments and work across pre-treatment, treatment-prep, the treatment units and brachytherapy.

The department delivers radiotherapy services for a wide range of cancers, including brachytherapy, molecular radiotherapy and total body irradiation, with a focus on head and neck, brain and sarcoma sites in the proton

Qualificações

• BSc in therapeutic radiography or equivalent qualification.
• HPC registration as a therapy radiographer.
• Explain the patient’s journey through radiotherapy including simulation, planning, treatment and follow up.
• Provide information and support about cancer and communicate distressing information to patients and relatives.
• Be enthusiastic and motivated, with the ability to work with the team through times of change.
• Demonstrate knowledge of QA systems.
• Understanding of governance issues.
• Radiotherapy IT systems e.g. ARIA.
• Commercial systems e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Implications for national collection and input of data.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to the delivery of radiotherapy services across photon and proton departments.
• Deliver radiotherapy treatments on state-of-the-art equipment under supervision of senior staff.
• Participate in treatment planning and patient care on rotation between units and pre-treatment suite.
• Liaise with patients, relatives and carers, and with multidisciplinary teams.
