Job summary

TARA Professional Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Primary Teacher to work full time in a specialist SEMH setting with pupils aged 7–9. The role involves delivering a differentiated curriculum within a therapeutic, nurturing environment and building trusting relationships.

You will adapt teaching approaches to emotional needs, support behaviour plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The post is until the end of January, with potential for permanent appointment for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised primary teaching qualification.
• Experience with primary children aged 7–9.
• Ability to support SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Strong emotional resilience and calm under pressure.
• Experience in SEMH, nurture or specialist SEND settings desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a broad, differentiated curriculum to small groups aged 7–9.
• Respond to changing situations and support pupils with emotional dysregulation and challenging behaviour.
• Work with colleagues and the multidisciplinary team following agreed behaviour plans.
• Create a safe, structured, therapeutic learning environment.
