Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Horticulture Instructor at Wathwood Hospital, Rotherham, to support patients with therapeutic horticulture, animal care, and garden-related activities in a 30-hour-per-week role.

You will run group and individual sessions, oversee garden and animal areas, support cafe duties on weekends, and engage with the community to aid rehabilitation and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• GCSE 5-9 (A*-C) in Maths and English.
• NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a related vocational area, animal care, healthcare.
• Willingness to complete and engage in further training appropriate to the role.

Responsabilités

• Facilitate individual and group therapeutic horticultural activities within the hospital grounds and in the community.
• Oversee maintenance of horticulture areas including polytunnels, allotment, fields and greenhouse.
• Maintain animal husbandry for on-site animals, including feeding and housing upkeep.
• Utilise green space to promote recovery and wellbeing through hospital-based activities.
• Contribute to risk assessment, writing activity protocols and staff/patient inductions.
• Assist in running the cafe on weekends alongside cafe staff and volunteers.
