Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking an experienced social worker to join its Safeguarding Outcomes Service. You will manage a diverse caseload, undertake assessments and child protection work, and collaborate with health, education and adult services to keep children safe.

The role emphasises relationship-based practice, systemic approaches, and commitment to high-quality interventions for families while offering development opportunities and supportive leadership.

Qualifications

• A relevant social work qualification with post qualifying experience.
• Knowledge of the legislative framework and legal proceedings governing children's services.
• Knowledge of theory and practice applicable to social work.
• IT skills to enable operation of standard electronic systems.
• Passion, commitment and motivation to support the most vulnerable families.
• Ideally experience safeguarding children or working with children in care.

Responsabilités

• Respond to, co-ordinate and deliver a range of social care services for children, young people and families.
• Undertake single assessments and section 47 child protection investigations.
• Work with partners across health, education and support services to meet needs.
• Manage a caseload with complex needs and write professional assessments/reports.
• Present evidence and contribute to service development for vulnerable families.
