Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking an ASYE Social Worker to join our Family Support Teams within the Safeguarding Outcomes Service. You will manage a caseload of children and families, undertake assessments and child protection work, and collaborate with health, education and adult services to safeguard children.

Qualifications

• A relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Knowledge of the legislative framework and of legal proceedings in children’s services.
• Understanding of theory and practice applicable to social work.
• IT skills to operate standard electronic systems.
• Passion, commitment and motivation to support vulnerable families.
• Experience of safeguarding children and/or working with children in care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to, coordinate and deliver a range of social care services to children, young people and families.
• Undertake single assessments and section 47 child protection investigations.
• Work with partners across health, education and other services to meet children’s needs.
• Contribute to service development and to safeguarding outcomes.
