Job summary

Harmeny Education Trust invites applications for an Education Support Worker in Balerno, Edinburgh. This part-time, ongoing role provides learning support for pupils aged 5–18 and sits within the Education department.

The post focuses on promoting engagement, assisting in learning, and supporting staff with curriculum delivery. A driving licence is desirable; PVG disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a support, education, or care role (1:1 experience desirable).
• Knowledge of needs of children with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Understanding of project-based and experiential learning approaches.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive ethos in the school consistent with Harmeny's vision and values.
• Provide learning support within the classroom and other environments.
• Support teaching staff with delivery of the curriculum.
• Provide support to children during transitions and outdoor activities.
• Encourage engagement with learning and maintain on-task focus.
• Prepare classroom resources and maintain equipment and space.
