Job summary

Harmeny Education Trust invites applications for a Part-Time Support for Learning Teacher in Balerno, Edinburgh. You will support children aged 5–18 with barriers to learning in a therapeutic educational setting, using Curriculum for Excellence guidance.

A GTCS-recognised teaching qualification is essential, with experience in supporting learning and managing behavioural needs. The role requires a 0.5 FTE pattern (17.5 hours weekly), flexible across the school week; salary ranges between £21,904

Qualifications

• Essential GTCS-recognised teaching qualification.
• An established track record in teaching in the early years.
• Experience in Support For Learning within mainstream or specialist settings.
• Ability to support children with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive ethos in line with Harmeny’s vision and values.
• Implement school decisions and uphold policies and procedures.
• Plan, deliver and assess learning through Numeracy and Literacy within Curriculum for Excellence levels.
• Provide supervision and support for learning staff within the classroom.
• Write reports on children’s progress against learning and resilience targets.
• Contribute to curriculum development and positive learning culture.
