Job summary

Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) invites applications for a Technical Theatre role to support showcases and productions. You will work within the Technical Theatre team to manage live sound, lighting and staging for student performances.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with live sound mixing, desk programming and ETC EOS/ION lighting desks, plus a strong interest in the performing arts. The post offers a collaborative environment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

Proven experience of live sound mixing, desk programming and temporary installation.
Proven ability to operate and programme lighting control panels to an advanced standard (ETC EOS family and ION desks).
Experience in sound design and selecting production specifications is desirable.
Understanding of current design software and ability to interpret plans.
Knowledge of electrical practice/theory and safety; qualifications would be an advantage.
Good working knowledge of health and safety practices, including working at heights.
Experience of production management for shows and showcases.
Specialism/background in sound is desirable.

Responsibilities

Support BOA showcases and productions as part of the Technical Theatre team.
Work across a broad range of arts pathways to produce high quality shows and showcases.
Contribute to professional development opportunities and safe working practices.
