Job summary

Cheltenham College is seeking a Theatre Technician for January to March 2027 to support Romeo and Juliet at The Playhouse and the school musical Mamma Mia, alongside other performances and examinations. You will work with the Director of Drama and the production team, providing hands-on technical support across lighting, sound, rigging, set and staging from prep through rehearsals to live shows.

Theatre Technician (January to March 2027)

• Fixed term: 18 January – 21 March 2027
• Approximately 260 working hours across the contract period(please review the schedule of working days/hours in the job description document before applying. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key technical role in bringing our students’ work to life, supporting Romeo and Juliet at The Playhouse and our whole-school musical Mamma Mia, alongside A Level and Drama examination performances.Working closely with the Director of Drama, teaching staff, pupils and the wider production team, you will provide hands-on technical expertise across lighting, sound, rigging, set and staging, from initial preparation through to rehearsals and live performances.We are looking for someone with practical theatre experience, excellent technical and organisational skills, and a calm, proactive approach. Experience of working with young people or in an educational setting would be an advantage.
