You will help prepare and run technical elements for lessons, rehearsals, performances and productions, ensuring spaces and equipment are safe and ready for use.

This hands-on role suits creative, practical individuals with experience in lighting, sound or staging, who can work calmly in a busy education setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical, theatre, or education environment.
• Knowledge of sound, lighting, staging, or other performing arts equipment.
• Strong practical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work calmly in busy environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine interest in supporting young people and performing arts education.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lighting, sound, staging, and other technical equipment.
• Prepare performance spaces, classrooms, and rehearsal areas for lessons and productions.
• Provide technical support during rehearsals, performances, and school events.
• Maintain, organise, and safely store technical equipment and resources.
• Carry out basic checks and report faults or maintenance requirements.
• Support teachers and students with the safe use of technical equipment.
• Assist with stage management, set changes, props, and production requirements.
• Contribute to the smooth and safe running of school performances and events.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and technically minded Performing Arts Technician to support a school in Warrington.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Performing Arts Technician to work alongside the Drama, Music, and Performing Arts departments, providing technical and practical support for lessons, rehearsals, performances, and school productions. You'll help ensure technical equipment and production spaces are prepared, safe, and ready for use.

What We're Looking For:

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience working within a school or education setting
• Relevant qualification in Performing Arts, Theatre Production, Technical Theatre, Music, or a related subject
• Experience operating lighting and sound desks
• Experience supporting live performances, productions concerts, or events
