Job summary

Band 2 NHS role in a busy Clinical Ward setting. You will support qualified staff in patient care across a five-theatre suite, including taking observations, ECGs, and basic clinical tasks. The post requires Care Certificate and prior experience in a clinical ward, with a focus on dignity, confidentiality and safe, accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Care Certificate required.
• Knowledge or experience of a clinical ward setting.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Perform ECGs, check blood sugar, remove cannulas.
• Provide direct patient care under supervision, maintaining dignity.
• Assess patient needs with a registered practitioner.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the practitioner.
• Support dietary needs, including cultural diets.
• Assist safe mobilisation with prescribed aids.
• Keep patient property in the correct place.
• Support safe, efficient ward operations and record care accurately.
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
• Keep skills current via in-house training and EPR training.
